BIOGRAPHY
Nicolas, known by his aliases Lumiere, Binome, and especially Stabfinger, has been passionate about music since a very young age, playing piano, guitar, and any instrument he could get his hands on. In 2004, on the occasion of opening for the Crookers’ “Animal Tour,” Nicolas launched his solo project Stabfinger, which quickly gained attention thanks to the release of his first track Go Feet on Freshly Squeezed (the well-known UK electroswing label), in collaboration with K.D.S.
Stabfinger was born as an eclectic musical project with only one rule: to create powerful music made for the dancefloor, breaking down all boundaries of genre and style. Mashups, remixes, and original tracks flow freely from funk to house, from breakbeat to techno, from cumbia to drum’n’bass, creating a personal and instantly recognizable sonic signature. A true time bomb ready to explode on the dancefloor.
Throughout his career, Nicolas has expanded his creative horizons by composing soundtracks for films, video games, dance, and theater performances. He has collaborated with numerous artists and alternative music projects, including: the duo Binome (FR/IT) with Funny Ox, a techno-oriented project; the duo Fost (again with Funny Ox), focused on drum’n’bass and bass music; the KDS & Stabfinger Live Show feat. Amina Annabi, blending live music, visuals, dance, and singing; and with the dance company Verticale ADE, where he also acts as a composer.
He has also worked with artists, MCs, singers, and musicians such as Prosper, Konix, Julien Incontrol, Rumore, Max Poney, Moonanga, Boydex, Awoke MC, Jonnie.D MC, Ashley Slater (Freak Power), Mc Shurshock, Al Tarba, Too Many T’s, Imagine This, and many more.
Stabfinger’s releases on Freshly Squeezed include ‘Shotgun Swing‘, ‘Black Mamma‘ and a remix of the iconic Swingrowers tune ‘Rose‘, all of which were released in collaboration with long time musical counterpart K.D.S.
