Disco Desperado is the key tune here marrying funked up dirty bass to an implausibly infectious groove. Accompanied by the slightly further out, tongue twister, Bouchez and the softer, polished lounge stylings of Breakfast At Annies. Very cool in a very German way.

As well as the bonus track, the CD version is partially mixed, costs less than a fiver and comes in a sexy tactile reverse-card sleeve. It's also very good and the perfect introduction to the label. Can't say fairer than that, buy the CD here.
Taking the sounds of the 1920s and 30s and giving them a big, bad twist, Jem delivers three killers for the electro-swing dance floor. The bowler-hatted, big-band brass section and speakeasy clarinets are underpinned by a darker brooding bass and production that adds contemporary electronic edge to the trad jazz-band.
