The VTQ re-issue their classic first single to celebrate it's inclusion in the new SONY PlayStation game LittleBIGplanet. The game is a beautifully designed piece of graphic inventiveness and we are all very happy to be involved with the project.
Electro scenesters UR Penetrators remix the track to stunning effect, with Lemon contributing a refresher mix to complete the package. The EP is available now from all good digital stores and iTunes below:
The VTQ will also be performing what is becoming a customary live show for them: Their Christmas party at South London Pacific on Saturday 5th December. Last year was riotous with a pantomine santa slaughter and various voodoo schenanigans... we're looking forward to seeing what they have planned this time around.
This is a very good and interesting radio show from our old friend Chris Tofu (of Continental Drifts, Lost Vagueness and Shangri La fame) looking at the whole Electro Swing genre...
In addition to some interesting observations, some iritating omissions, and some amusing chit chat, the show features a live interview with The Correspondents just prior to the 'secret' appearance at our pre-launch White Mink party...
Enjoy.

... but three (count them!) tunes from Freshly Squeezed. The latest version of Sony PlayStation’s excellent LittleBIGplanet is due later this month. Well respected for it’s unique and quirky graphic style (YouTube clip here or below) it fits really well with our music. We’re genuinely proud that both The Voodoo Trombone Quartet and Stereo de Luxe (x2) are now a part of it.
To celebrate, we commissioned the excellent UR Penetrators to create a brand new electro remix of The VTQ’s classic first single Voodoo Juju (featured in the game).
The mix will be available online from 23rd November but we are also giving away an accapella version of the track to anyone who fancies having a go at remixing it themselves. Drop us a line and we’ll send you the files...
If you haven’t yet visited our YouTube channel yet, now is a good time to do so. We’ve just uploaded a brand new sync show reel which, in true YouTube style, features 30 seconds of us blowing our own trumpet! See for yourself here or ...
The long awaited second album from The VTQ: heavier and more polished than it's predecessor, but no less infectious;
"Not since the heyday of the Nutty Boys, has a band mixed ska, reggae and funk into such a delicious cocktail of grooves." Clash
"An essential slice of summer for anyone who likes their tunes low on pretension but high on warmth" Bearded
OUT NOW; on digipack CD here and most download sites including:
OUT NOW to download above; The GET ON EP from Lodekka not only delivers more of the same high-quality downtempo grooves, but with the title track boards the funk bus in seriously fine style. And here's a taster...
Here we have a sneak preview of the work of Lodekka's resident VJ and animator, Ross. ALthough we have yet to witness the full effect of the visuals with the ever-growing Lodekka Hi-Fi Soundsystem (at the last Big Chill gigs there were only 2 of them) - we though this was so good it stands up on it's own as a piece of motion graphics... more coming very soon!
SORRY - MISSED IT THIS TIME...!!!
