Shaka is a ghetto, funkstep DJ and producer collective from the plush exotica of São Paulo on the Brazilian east coast. Their sound is a combination of soulful vocals, tasty guitar licks, badass beats, funky riffs, glitchy drum beats, phat bass lines and warped synths. Although they have now disbanded, the two albums released with Freshly Squeezed (Spacefunk and Flash City) are still staples of our catalogue that feature in our This Is Freshly Squeezed playlist.
